The World Heritage Site of Bath and the stunning countryside surrounding it is one of England's most beautiful places to visit.

Bath, England, is a unique city; its hot springs, Roman Baths, splendid Abbey and Georgian stone crescents have attracted visitors for centuries. Set in rolling Somerset countryside, just over 100 miles west of London, it is a beautiful and unforgettable place to visit.

[edit] Things to do

Britain's finest Georgian city is brimming with things to do and see. With around 5,000 buildings 'listed' because of their architectural merit, a wander around Bath reveals a treasure trove of interest and fascination.

The city boasts a remarkable range of museums, galleries and exhibitions covering almost every subject under the sun - why not walk where the Romans walked at the Roman Baths or bathe in the natural thermal waters at Thermae Bath Spa. You can discover Bath's most famous resident, Jane Austen at The Jane Austen Centre, or enjoy a meal at the oldest house in Bath, Sally Lunn's Refreshment House and Museum. Alternatively, why not visit the only museum of Americana outside the United States and trace the American way of life from colonial times to the mid nineteenth century at The American Museum at Claverton Manor.

When it comes to shopping, it's a case of quantity and quality. Bath has more - and better - shops than a city ten times its size. It's a real shoppers paradise, renowned for its range of independent shops.

And there's indoor and outdoor activities to suit everyone.
