Distrito Federal (DF) is Brazil's Federal District, where the country's capital, Brasilia, is located. As a matter of fact, Distrito Federal and Brasilia are a single political unit and the terms are often used as synonyms, although the DF contains several other towns, known as Brasilia's satellite cities.
