Modern, sophisticated malls, and shopping plazas, are located throughout Monterrey and its Metropolitan Area. All are usually filled with shoppers, a reflection of the economic condition of this prosperous city. Smaller specialty shops sell gifts and crafts from all over Mexico. and just about everything you can ever imagine. Modern furniture stores abound as there are many upscale furniture factories located here. The economy here is incredible and that makes for a great retail atmosphere. If you have decided to tour the downtown of the city and visit the shops and restaurants located in these streets, you will surely find Plaza Mexico. Its facade is a building that evokes colonial times: small balconies on its top floors and little antique lamps on the walls. Inside, there are no large shops, but it is filled with numerous jewellery stores, shoe stores, fast food establishments, and even a playground for the children named Magic Place. The prices are more accessible here than in other shopping malls.

This is a modern shopping mall with first-class facilities. Although it is not very big, it has several important and renowned stores. In Galerías Monterrey there is a Liverpool, a Sanborn's, and several establishments where you can buy clothes, shoes, accessories, computer equipment, decorating items, cigarettes, CDs and much much more. It the place to come and have a stroll on weekends for families who live in this area. It has a fast food area with occasional amazing exhibits like one of artistic figures made with Lego pieces.

In an area of great surplus value due to its economic level, this shopping mall has prestigious shops and large department stores. Although it is not the most important in Monterrey, it has some of the best shops in the city. For those who wish to buy groceries, there is a Soriana supermarket with an ample variety. For those who wish to renew their wardrobe or buy a gift, there is Suburbia; if what you prefer is to give in to the pleasure of touring boutiques, shoe stores and such, you can stroll along its modern corridors and lose yourself in the shop windows.

One of the largest shopping malls in Mexico, and the largest located in the metropolitan area of Monterrey. Founded in 1988, it has grown to include shops and department stores dedicated to over 150 commercial activities.

Galerías Valle Oriente is a shopping mall in Monterrey, Mexico, located in the limits with San Pedro Garza García, in the Lazaro Cardenas Avenue, close to the Valle Oriente upscale development district. The mall takes its name from the district. The architect in charge of the project was Marcos Suberville, a renown Mexican architect also responsible for the design of many other shopping malls in Mexico such as "Galerias Cumbres"(Monterrey),"Galerias Insurgentes"(Mexico City) and "Galerias Cuernavaca"(Cuernavaca).
